iBuy iRobot Blog Guide

I just bought a Roomba Red Robotic Vacuum from the US iRobot Corp. then brought it to another country and plugged it into a 110v automatic voltage regulator that I use my computer on. It charged properly for the first 16 hours (per the charging instructions) then I used it to vacuum my floor. I charged it a 2nd time but I noticed that the battery charging light wasn’t on. I talked to their online chat help and was told the warranty has been voided and that it was designed to work ONLY on US current (as if people still use ships to travel from country to country with trips lasting weeks if not months). They said their product was too complex and sensitive for other countries’ electricity. Sure. Too complex and sensitive for a product made in China (stamped on the back) – probably by child slave-labor (not stamped on the back)!
Sounds like legalized (?) fraud (?) or an excuse for a crappy product rushed to production to me. And it’s supposed to be a contractor for the US military! Ha.

I bought a Roomba on ebay that worked beautifully for 1 month. Then it croaked. The warranty is not transferable. It’s only 2 years old! Irobot wants $95 plus shipping to refurbish it. I did research on these vacuums, but didn’t realize there were no stores to take them to get them fixed. Help!!!
P.S. Was buying it on ebay my first mistake?

i have two cats and i love them to death but they make a huge mess with their litter box, which is in my room due to a very insane brother who wouldn’t allow it any where else, so i was thinking of getting one of those roomba, irobot things, i’m really tired of having my feet getting covered with litter every time i walk bare foot in my room, i have hard wood floors and the cats get the litter everywhere in my room. so, there are a crazy amount of the roomba models and i have no idea which one would be best for my particular situation, could someone please tell me which roomba would be best to pick up cat litter from hard wood floors?

I have an old Roomba, the original gray model. Lost the AC adapter. Could buy a replacement direct from iRobot, but that would cost $40. No thanks, I have a universal AC which will work for my needs.
Where should I set the voltage on my universal AC?

We just got a Roomba iRobot vacuum. I love it. I feel like it needs a name. I would love any suggestions.

I had mine for a year, until the battery died. I loved it for a quick clean up.
This is not to be replaced for your traditional vacuum. It does not get a deep down clean.
The iRobot does only a surface clean sweep and the container needs to be emptied out often.
Replacement parts are expensive. I have not gone to buy the battery yet because of it being expensive. $50.00 +
I kind of miss it, for it’s convenience, but I can do without it.

Do you know what type of battery is used for the i Robot Roomba 405 and where i can buy one?. If possible can you give me a link of a place selling it so i could buy one? (just bought the robot vacume from ebay really cheap but it has no battery or virtual walls)

I do all my shopping on ebay and I want the cheapest most basic irobot roomba I can find. Please help. I need a cheap model.
