You got it right.. an excuse for a crappy production...
There could be a diffrence in the power cycles between the US and other countries 50/60HZ but since you are using your regulator then this should not be a factor...

I really don't think that it'll go over a one inch or even a half inch bump...If you go to the store and turn it over, you'll see that it seriously has 0 clearance..
The roomba is great for harwood and tile floors, but on carpet, all it really does is pick up surface dirt...I know that it "says" that it's a vacuum but it's only really a broom...If you use it for carpet you still need to vacuum with your regular vac once a week to get the deep down dirt...
Hope I've helped.. :-)

Since it's much smaller than a conventional vacuum cleaner and thus has a much smaller motor, I'd be willing to bet that it uses substantially less electricity than a standard vacuum. If you bothered that much about something so trivial you could always break out the broom and dustpan.

I see that you have not received many responses to your question. I think maybe it would do better in a different category, yahoo sometimes doesn't do a great job of choosing the category.
Engineers are more into the theoretical and the math.
I think that if you post this same question under consumer electronics you will get a lot of responses. Your question is well stated and includes plenty of details. Engineers are more into the theoretical and the math.
Good Luck
